The ultimate driving experience. Imagine the thrill of being able to drive a genuine ex-Grand Prix car on a real racetrack! That is what the Formula One Experience from Everyman Motor Racing Activities delivers.
Now in its eighth year, this event is unique in the UK. Already featured on BBC’s Top Gear, it is a rare opportunity to experience what the likes of Schumacher, Button, Senna, Prost do duringa ‘day at the office’.
To make the Formula One Experience truly unforgettable, a two day hospitality package for two people is included in the price. Prior to the event both the driver their and guest will enjoy an overnight stay and evening meal in a top Country House Hotel, where members of the Formula One team will be on-hand to welcome participants and provide familiarisation with the Formula One Experience.
The following day, drivers progressively hone their skills under the careful supervision of an experienced Association of Racing Driving Schools (ARDS) instructor. The safest racing lines and best driving techniques are explained, and as groups are small, almost continuous assessment is given.
Starting in a ‘hot hatch’, in which to learn the track, drivers advance to a Ferrari or Porsche. This is followed by numerous laps in an exhilarating single-seater Formula Ford, Vauxhall and Lotus.
Finally, it’s the driving experience nobody will ever forget – 8 laps in a race-tuned Formula One car! Imagine 550 bhp and a clear track ahead. It is what every racing driver dreams of. In fact, all that’s missing from this fantastic 2-day experience is Murray Walker screaming ‘Go! Go! Go!’
Cash Alternative
Should the winner not wish to take the prize, the cash alternative for this competition is £1,280

Win the Ferrari F430 in this November’s Supercar Competition

Apparently even the most butter-fingered, incapably hopeless driver could get the F430 round a test track just a second or so slower than the experts, and Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson has called it “just about the best car I’ve ever driven”.
The press is awash with reviews of the new Ferrari 458 at the moment, but it is testament to the F430’s awesome credentials that it has held Ferrari’s badge so high for quite so long. I have had the good fortune to drive one for a weekend, and its only then that you realise what all the fuss is all about. Just make sure you don’t turn off the traction control (like I did by mistake)!
As the hairpin bend unwinds, you start squeezing the throttle, and the engine note rises from a creamy bass growl to a screaming contralto howl, underlain by an increasingly fussy backbeat of cams and valve gear. It’s a delicious, utterly intoxicating engine noise. One that encourages you to use every last one of the 8500 revs that are on tap before you finger-flick the paddle shifter back and engage third gear, just like that…

Two Rare Mercedes Benz Fetch £1.1m At Auction

While most of us are drooling over the prospect of driving off into the sunset with the supercar of our dreams, two people who attended the recent RM Auction in London went home with super exclusive supercars.
Two of the main attractions at the said auction were a pair Mercedes-Benz CLK GTRs – one was a 2005 Coupe version and the other was of the 2006 Roadster variety. Expensive and rare – only 20 coupes and five roadsters were ever built – at the same time, the CLK GTRs sold for a combined £1.1 million – a ’somewhat’ bargain price considering the ‘beyond exclusive’ tag attached to these two cars.
While the two new – and lucky – owners of these cars were not identified, we do know that the 2005 CLK GTR Coupe sold for £522,500 while the 2006 Roadster version fetched a pretty cool £616,000.
It also goes without saying that the GTRs are not your prototypical Mercedeses. Fine-tuned by no less than HWA, the cars come with a 6.9-liter V12 engine that’s capable of churning out up to 612 horsepower. In addition to that, the two models also came with reinforced features including a six-speed sequential manual gearbox, a dual independent double-wishbone suspension, and carbon fiber brakes.

Porsche’s Lightest and Quickest Boxster Released

Source: Best of the Best website.
This is the new Porsche Boxster Spyder and, as the arrival of any new Porsche tends to be a polarising event, you’ll either be sighing in disgust or yelping in delight. The bare facts? This Boxster Spyder is Porsche’s lightest and quickest current-gen roadster yet thanks to the folding roof being junked.
The Spyder will be unveiled at the LA Auto Show in December 2009, and it’s not a run-out limited edition like previous Spyder-tagged Boxsters, but the third (and most expensive) permanent addition to the roadster range.
So the new Porsche Boxster Spyder doesn’t have a convertible roof?
Well it does. Sort of. To create the Spyder Porsche has binned the folding roof and all its associated mechanics, and in its place comes a bit of cloth that attaches to the windscreen and hooks onto the new rear deck. Even with the side windows up and the glass wind deflector in place, there’ll still be a few gaps letting the wind in. It’s only meant for low-speed driving – Porsche quotes the 166mph top speed without the roof. Shouting to be heard, we presume.
And that new rear deck?
It’s the most noticeable difference between the Spyder and a standard Boxster – there’s now a big pair of power domes behind the rear seats and a larger rear spoiler. Other tweaks include revised side intakes, a new front bumper and those retro stickers.
What about inside, or under the (mid-engined) bonnet?
The interior gets some fancy door pulls from the GT3 RS and weight-saving carbon buckets. Sports suspension, a lower centre of gravity and – at a relatively trim 1275kg – an 80kg weight advantage over a Boxster S should make the Spyder the sharpest Boxster yet.
And with an extra 10bhp from the engine – taking the total from the 3.4-litre flat-six to 316bhp – and the Spyder is also two-tenths quicker to 62mph than a regular S, knocking the benchmark sprint out in 4.8 seconds.
Normal Porsche options like PDK, sat-nav and ceramic brakes will be available, the stickers will be a delete option, and customers should also be able to swap the hardcore seats for more comfort-oriented items. UK sales start in February 2010 with prices set at £44,643, just a few grand more than a Boxster S. Want one?

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

Lamborghini presents the ultimate driving machine among open-top two-seaters – the Reventón Roadster is a sports car of breathtaking fascination, menacing power and uncompromising performance. The 6.5 liter twelve-cylinder generates 493 kW (670 PS), catapulting the Roadster from 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 330 KM/h (205 mph). The open-top Reventón is not only one of the fastest, but also one of the most exclusive cars in the world – Lamborghini has limited the series.
The Lamborghini Reventón is not destined to remain a one-off. Less than 20 Lamborghini friends and collectors will be able to own this extraordinary car and, naturally, enjoy the incomparable pleasure of driving it.
Each Reventón Roadster will be sold for 1.1 Million Euro (without taxes). Deliveries will begin October 2009.
“The Reventón is the most extreme car in the history of the brand”, comments Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. “The new Roadster adds an extra emotional component to our combined technological expertise – it unites superior performance with the sensual fascination of open-top driving. The Reventón Coupé was presented at the 2007 IAA in Frankfurt and was sold out immediately.
Open-top sports cars are a tradition at Lamborghini that stretches back over 40 years. In 1968, the company from Sant’Agata Bolognese built a Miura without a fixed roof as a one-off. The Diablo Roadster appeared in 1995 with its targa roof anchored to the engine cover.
All Lamborghinis are created with an avantgarde approach to design; a fast-moving technical sculpture. The Reventón Roadster is derived from the same creative thinking as the Coupé. Its designers found their inspiration in aviation – the aggressive wedge shape evokes images of fighter jets.
The powerful arrowhead form at the front, the mighty air intakes pulled way forward, the broad side skirts, the upwards opening scissor doors and the rear end with its menacing edges – the Roadster is clad in a design of maximum functionality and spectacular clarity. Details set stylish accents, such as headlamps featuring bi-xenon units with LEDs forming the daytime running lights and indicators. The rear lamps are also equipped with LEDs.
Like the Coupé, the Reventón Roadster measures 4700 mm (185 in.) long. It has a wheelbase of 2665 mm (105 in.) and is 2058 mm (81 in.) wide and 1132 mm (45 in.) high. The driver and passenger seating positions are low and sporty, separated by a substantial central tunnel.
Behind the two seats are two hidden pop-up bars that deploy upwards in just a few hundredths of a second in the event of an imminent rollover. A fixed, horizontal wing-shaped member behind the seats bears the third brake light. The design of the Roadster’s long back is also quite distinct from that of the Coupé. The engine bonnet is virtually horizontal and a total of four windows made from glass provide a view of the mighty V12 in all its technical elegance.

Keating TKR – Britain’s 260MPH Production Supercar

Keating revealed today the first image of the TKR supercar, a model that was claimed to become the fastest ‘production’ car. Tony Keating announced a top speed of 260 mph. The Keating TKR is powered by a 7.0 litre engine that delivers a total of 1800hp.
Press release
British supercar manufacturer and challenger for the production car world land speed record, Keating, will have its 260.1mph TKR supercar on display at this year’s MPH Show featuring Top Gear Live at London’s Earls Court on 5 November.
In the first of two runs on the Salt Lake Flats in California last month, the remarkable 7.0 litre, 1800 BHP Keating TKR smashed the current record, adding an extra 3 mph to the top speed of existing title holder, the Shelby Aero TT. Now the Manchester based company must do it again to ensure entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.
But before it returns to California, the breathtaking Keating TKR will make its MPH show debut in London tomorrow in front of capacity crowds.
Tony Keating, founder of Keating Supercars, said: “The Keating TKR realises our ambition to take on the world’s finest supercars and win. This car rivals them all for looks, handling, performance and exclusivity. And best of all, it’s British.”
The awesome piece of engineering will be on the Reef Paint Shop stand at MPH The Prestige and Performance Motor Show. Reef Paint Shop Managing Director, Andrew Figini, said: “We are delighted to have the association with Keating and be part of the MPH Show.
“We stripped the original red colour and replaced with a gloss black finish with custom flair in candy-brandy wine before clear-coating – it looks spectacular when the light hits it.”

50th Anniversary Corvette Stingray Concept

Source: Best of the Best website.
Developed mainly to infuse and combine design elements from iconic Stingrays of the past to create a more cutting-edge version for the future, the 50th Anniversary GM Corvette Stingray Concept is an eye-catcher in every sense of the word.
According to General Motors, the Corvette Stingray Concept was a project undertaken with the sole objective of taking the brand to newer heights, all while retaining its iconic legacy. So in an effort to puts some weight behind their goal, GM left no stones unturned in developing a concept that its predecessors can be proud of. Among the features found in the Corvette Stingray Concept is a clamshell hood, scissor doors, rear-view cameras with night vision enhancement, ergonomic seats, and of course, a high-performance hybrid. In addition to that, the car also comes with a state-of-the-art inertactive touch control system that allows drivers to manipulate the cars power and efficiency depending on their liking as well as use their settings to share with other people via the cars advanced telemetrics and in-car system.
With a brand as esteemed as the Stingray, it would’ve been foolish for GM to not exert any and all efforts in creating a car that can live up to the legend of the iconic brand. Fortunately, GM knows better than most of us that preserving the status held by the Stingray in the annals of automotive lore is something that should never be taken lightly, and the 50th Anniversary Corvette Stingray Concept is proof of that.
